CAREER

Erse Kahraman received her undergraduate degree on Political Science and International Relations (major) and Economics (minor) at Bogazici University, and her postgraduate degree on International Relations at the Middle East Technical University. Following her education in the field of social sciences, she simultaneously started to study Law at Erzincan University. She then took a break and went to abroad for her doctorate study in the field of Political Economics at the European University Institute and resumed her studies on Law after returning to Turkey. She graduated from the Faculty of Law, Antalya Bilim University.

She is maintaining her professional practice mainly in the fields of Law of Contracts, Labor Law, Corporate Law and International Private Law. Accordingly, she has broad experience in drafting and review of commercial agreements, as needed by the clients, in Turkish and English, and conduct of negotiation processes, settlement of disputes arising from labor law and social security law, drafting of collective labor agreements, and follow-up of legal actions for settlement of cross-border disputes across the UK.

She takes an active role in follow-up of legal actions filed for our local and international corporate or individual clients. She also provides contribution to regulatory adaptation and counseling processes for protection of personal data and data safety of clients, providing legal counseling services on Labor Law to Human Resources departments of large-sized companies.

Gaining comprehensive experience and know-how in incorporation of a start-up company operating across the field of biotechnology, Erse Kahraman is enthusiastic to develop mechanisms to meet the legal needs of entrepreneurs.

Besides professional legal practice, she also serves as an interpreter at the courts and police stations, as well as a certified translator at and before the public notaries. She occasionally assumes responsibility as a voluntary translator to translate the awards ordered by the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European Court of Human Rights, and the French Constitutional Council (Conseil Constitutionnel) for academic journals and blogs.
